Vision and Mission of the Centre

The Centre support and drive national development trhough education, research and innovation and service, by offering high quality programs. All activities conducted by the Centre are designed to fulfill its Vission and Mission Statements. These statements are listed below:

Centre's Vision

To generate knowledge for global cometitive advantage and become a leading world class water related research institute.

i) Impart academic & professional training to  engineers to enable them to meet future challenges.

ii) Continuous improving the quality of existing educational programs and addition of new disciplines in highly demanding areas.

iii) Innovative solutions for emerging water related issues and technological advancement.

iv) Dissemination and sharing of the state of art of knowledge to scientific community.

v) Liaison with water related institutions nationally as well as internationally.

vi)  Develop the Centre as an international seat of learning

Centre's Mission

• Capacity building of professionals and technical manpower for sustainable development, management and utilization of water resources.
• Impart academic & professional training to engineers to enable them to meet future challenges.
• Innovative solutions for emerging water related issues and technological advancement.
• Provide testing and consultancy services to Government and industry.
• Liaison with water related institutions nationally as well as internationally.

Functions of Centre (Act 1974)

A Centre shall:

• Engage in goal-oriented high-level teaching and research;
• Train research workers;
• Establish M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in the relevant discipline in accordance with the standard and requirements of the University in which the Centre is established;
• Promote Cooperation in inter-disciplinary relationship with other teaching and research establishment;
• Arrange conferences, seminars and refresher courses for the development of the teaching and research; and
• Conduct teaching and research in such particular discipline as is assigned to it by the Federal Government
